MMA Kings broke the news Saturday evening that former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua is off his main event matchup against Ovince Saint Preux Saturday at UFC Fight Night Saitama due to injury. As a result, former UFC middleweight title challenger Yushin Okami will take his place on less than a week’s notice.
Okami (34-10) moves up to the light heavyweight division for the first time in his career and returns to the UFC after his release in 2013 The 36-year-old has competed at welterweight in his last five bouts, primliary for WSOF, and jumps up two-weight classes for the matchup.
