Coach Duke Roufus posted on his Instagram account Tuesday that former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will face Dustin Poirier at UFC Fight Night 120 on November 11th at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. Talk MMA was the first to report the matchup, although UFC officials have not confirmed the fight just yet.

Pettis (20-6) had a successful return to the lightweight division in his last bout, earning a unanimous-decision win over Jim Miller at UFC 213. The former UFC lightweight champion has just two wins in his last six fights.

Poirier (21-5) heads into this matchup off a No-Contest against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 211, where the former Bellator champion landed a series of illegal knees. The WEC veteran has won five of his last six fights.

Frank Mir agrees to terms with Bellator MMA

Ariel Helwani broke the news Thursday that former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir is headed to Bellator. Mir (18-11) was granted his release from the UFC last month and hasn’t competed since a March 2016 loss to Mark Hunt where he tested positive for metabolites post-fight. Due to that suspension, the Las Vegas native can’t compete until April 2018. The 38-year-old is 2-6 in his last eight fights.

Tony Martin vs. Olivier Aubin-Mercier set for UFC Fight Night 116

UFC officials announced Tuesday that a lightweight bout between Tony Martin and TUF Nations finalist Olivier Aubin-Mercier has been added to UFC Fight Night 116 in Pittsburgh on September 16th.

Martin (11-3) has won four of his last five fights after starting his UFC career 0-2. The 27-year-old heads into this matchup on a three-fight win streak, including a unanimous-decision win over Johnny Case at UFC Fight Night 112 in June.

Meanwhile, Aubin-Mercier (9-2) has won back-to-back fights, including a second-round submission victory over Drew Dober in his last fight at UFC 206 in December. The Canadian has gone 5-2 in the UFC, with four of those victories coming by submission.
