Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 5 Closing Odds and Betting Results

Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series Event 5 took place this past Tuesday (August 8, 2017). The card was headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Jamelle Jones and Mike Rodriguez. Closing odds are courtesy of Several Bookmakers.

Favorites that Won

Rodriguez landed a stunning flying knee on Jones that sent the light heavyweight to the canvas. Rodriguez followed it up with some ground-and-pound, finishing the fight and earning a UFC contract. Rodriguez closed as a -165 favorite while Jones was a +145 underdog.

Julio Arce came out in the second round like a man possessed, out-striking Peter Petties 44-5 in the round and forcing the referee to step in stop the bout to win by TKO. Arce closed as a -230 fave while Petties was a +190 dog.

Alex Perez had Kevin Gray backing up from the opening bell. He hurt Gray on the feet and then wrapped a choke on the ground to earn a first-round submission win. With the win, Perez also received a UFC contract. Perez closed at -150 with Gray +130.

Ricky Simon put on one of the top performances of the season in a back-and-forth battle to win a split decision over veteran Donovan Frelow. Simon closed as the biggest favorite on the card at -290 while Frelow was the largest underdog at +245.

Shelton Graves secured takedowns and was able to dominate on the ground to win by third-round TKO over Everett Sims. Graves closed as a slim -115 fave with Sims a small -105 dog in a contest which was not nearly as close as the line indicated.
