MMA Odds and Ends for Wednesday: Cris Cyborg calls out Holly Holm for UFC 219 championship fight

UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino called out former bantamweight champion Holly Holm on Tuesday in an Instagram post, where she stated her desire to fight the former women’s bantamweight champ on December 30th at UFC 219 in Las Vegas.

Justino (18-1 NC) captured the vacant women’s featherweight title at UFC 214, where she defeated Tonya Evinger via third-round TKO. The 32-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since 2005. Holm (11-3) snapped her three-fight losing streak in her last fight, taking out Bethe Correia by third-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 111. The Jackson/Winklejohn product previously fought at featherweight in January, losing via unanimous decision to Germaine de Randamie at UFC 208. Rob Wilkinson replaces Abu Azaitar against Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC Fight Night 115

Rob Wilkinson will now face Siyar Bahadurzada at UFC Fight Night 115 on September 2nd at Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Original opponent Abu Azaitar has been pulled off the card.

Wilkinson (11-0) competes for the first time since October 2016 and will be making his UFC debut. The 25-year-old boasts 10 stoppage victories in 11 career fights. Bahadurzada (22-6-1) also hasn’t fought since March 2016, when he upset Brandon Thatch with a third-round submission at UFC 196. “The Great” will be looking for his first two-fight win streak since 2012.
