UFC Fight Night 114: Pettis vs. Moreno
Date: August 5, 2017
Arena: Arena Ciudad de Mexico
City: Mexico City, Mexico
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Mexico City, Mexico for the fourth time in promotional history this Saturday (August 5, 2017) with UFC Fight Night 114: Pettis vs. Moreno. The 12-fight card is scheduled to kick off with preliminary action at 7 p.m. (ET) on UFC Fight Pass. Prelims will continue at 8 p.m. on FOX Sports 1, with the main card getting underway on the same channel at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.
The “Fight of the Night” plays that hold the most value are:
Pettis/Moreno +225 1u to win 2.25u
Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno are headlining a UFC card for the first time in their careers, and they put intend on putting on a show for the fans in Mexico City, who will be behind the Mexican Moreno. Both of these flyweights generally put on entertaining scraps when they step foot inside the Octagon, and I expect this time to be no different. Whether this fight last a few minutes or goes five rounds, I expect entertaining action. I don’t love the odds at +225, but I do think this play has a good chance of cashing. Should these flyweights end up walking away with the evening’s “Fight of the Night” bonus, it would be the third time for Pettis while being the first for Moreno.
Morales/Sanchez 1u to win 9.5u
This is my favorite pick to home the prize with Joseph Morales taking on Roberto Sanchez. It is a pairing of two undefeated Mexican flyweights who are making their Octagon debuts, and I expect them to put on a show from start to finish. I am high on both of these guys, as they are both talented and entertaining fighters with a high ceiling in the UFC’s 125-pound division. Whether it lasts a couple of minutes or goes all five rounds, I expect fireworks out of these two, and at +950, I think there’s a world of value here, as I think it is a coin-flip between this fight and the main event, and considering the main event is +225 and this play is +950, this is the one I love. Should these flyweights manage to take home the bonus, it would obviously be the first time for both newcomers.
Please note: Bravo/Bandenay (+700) and Perez/Soukamthath (+700) both hold value as well, and I recommend playing each for .5u (to win 3.5u).
