Five Props that Cashed Big at UFC 214

Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC 214 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers.

1) Ricardo Lamas by T/KO (+992)

Lamas defeated Jason Knight via first-round TKO to make it two straight wins for himself inside the Octagon while snapping Knight’s four-fight winning streak. It was an incredible performance by Lamas, who continues to impress despite being 35 years of age. Big congrats are due to those who were betting on “The Bully” to stop Knight with strikes, as the prop was the biggest to cash on the night at a whopping +992.

2) Calvin Kattar by Decision (+619)

Kattar made his short-notice promotional debut against Team Alpha Male product Andre Fili and defeated him via unanimous decision following three largely one-sided rounds of action. It was an impressive and dominant performance by Kattar, and fight fans look forward to seeing this featherweight back inside the Octagon sooner rather than later. Congrats are due to those who took Kattar to win this fight on the judges’ scorecards, as the prop paid out beautifully at +619.

3) Brian Ortega by Submission (+550)

In what was a razor-close matchup coming down to the wire, Ortega capitalized on a mistake made by Renato Moicano, which was an attempted takedown in an effort to steal the third and final round. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, Ortega was well prepared for it, and he had a guillotine trapped and ready. As soon as Moicano shot for the takedown, “T-City” locked up the choke and within seconds forced the tap, handing the Brazilian the first official loss of his pro MMA career. Kudos to those wise enough to play this prop, as Ortega by Submission paid out at a lovely +550!

4) Tyron Woodley by Decision (+425)

Woodley defeated Demian Maia via unanimous decision after five lackluster rounds of action. Congrats if you were backing him to take this win on the scorecards, as it paid out at a really nice +425.

5) Jon Jones by T/KO (+425)

He’s back! Jones defeated UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in come-from-behind fashion via third-round knockout to reclaim his 205-pound crown. Just like that, “Bones” is back on top of the world with the highlight-reel finish and victory. If you were behind him to win this fight via T/KO, then congratulations are in order, as you made out with a sweet +425.

A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $1,406,541
