Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 4 Opening Betting Odds

Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 4 emanates from The Ultimate Fighter Gym this Tuesday (August 1st, 2017) at 8 p.m. (ET) live on UFC Fight Pass. In the main event, TUF 23’s Phil Hawes takes on Julian Marquez in a middleweight affair.

Hawes (4-1) signed with WSOF after his stint on Season 23 of The Ultimate Fighter, going 1-1 with the promotion, earning a win over Joshua Key and losing to Louis Taylor. The Jackson/Winklejohn product will be looking for his first win since April 2016 and competes for the first time this year. Marquez (5-1) trains at Syndicate MMA in Las Vegas and is coming off an impressive first-round TKO victory over Roufusport product Cameron Olson at LFA 12 in May. The 27-year-old heads into this matchup on a three-fight win streak.

In the co-main event, the bantamweights take center stage as undefeated Kyler Phillps battles James Gray. Phillips (4-0) trains at The MMA Lab and has won three of his four career fights by stoppage. The 22-year-old last competed at LFA 13 in June, when he earned a unanimous-decision win over Jonathan Quiroz. Gray (4-1) competes for the first time since July 2015 and is coming off a first-round TKO setback to Daniel Virginio at XFC International 10: Night of Champions. The 29-year-old also will be competing in North America for the first time since 2013 and has won all of his fights by submission.

Sticking with the bantamweight division, undefeated CES MMA standout Carlos Candelario takes on Ronaldo Candido on the main card. Candelario (6-0) has won five of his six career fights by finish, including a first-round TKO win over Timothy Wheeler at CES 44 back in May. The Underdog MMA product, who trains with CES featherweight champion Matt Bessette, competes for the third time this year. Candido (6-0) will be fighting for the first time since June 2015 and making his North American debut. The Brazilian has won all six of his career fights by submission.

In the featherweight division, Austin Arnett takes his 13-fight win streak into this matchup against Brandon Davis. Arnett (17-2) has won 12 of his 19 career fights by stoppage, including a submission victory over Jake Jokela back in June. The 22-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since November 2013. Davis (7-2) is a teammate of UFC featherweight Jason Knight and brings a six-fight win streak into this 145-pound showdown. The 27-year-old heads into this matchup off a first-round TKO victory over Randy Hedderick back in June.

Rounding out the card is Combate America’s standout John Castaneda, who takes on Cheyden Leialoha in a bantamweight encounter. Castaneda (13-2) carries an eight-fight win streak into the matchup, which includes a second-round TKO victory over UFC veteran Chris Beal at Combate 14 in May. The 25-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since RFA 19 in October 2014. Leialoha (6-0) is a teammate of UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway and has won three of his six career fights by submission.
