Jessica Andrade announced recently in an interview with Combate that she’s interested in facing either Claudia Gadelha or Tecia Torres next. The Brazilian Gadelha saw the the message and agreed to the matchup via her Instagram account…
“I’m waiting to hear about my next fight since I got out of the Octagon in my last fight. Nobody stepped in until now but I read today that @jessicammapro wants to fight me. She is got some guts!! Andrade (16-6) had her three-fight win streak snapped when she lost via unanimous decision to Joanna Jędrzejczyk at UFC 211 in March. The 25-year-old has gone 3-1 in the UFC since dropping down to the strawweight division.
Gadelha (15-2) is coming off back-to-back victories over Cortney Casey and Karolina Kowalkiewicz since losing a rematch with Jędrzejczyk at The Ultimate Fight 22 Finale last year. The 28-year-old has never won three straight fights in her UFC career.
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Neil Magny, Mitch Clarke vs. Alex White added to UFC 215 in Edmonton UFC officials announced Tuesday that former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will face Neil Magny at UFC 215 in Edmonton on September 9th. In addition, a lightweight bout pitting Canadian Mitch Clarke against Alex White was also added to the card.
Dos Anjos (26-9) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Tarec Saffiedine at UFC Fight Night 111 in June, which was his first bout competing in the welterweight division. With that victory, the 32-year-old snapped a two-fight skid. Magny (26-9) has won four of his last five fights, including a unanimous-decision victory over former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks at UFC 207. The Colorado native has amassed a 12-4 record in the UFC.
Clarke (11-4) hasn’t competed since a 25-second loss to Joseph Duffy last year at UFC Fight Night 90. The Edmonton native has gone 2-4 in the UFC and will be looking for his first win since May 2014. White (11-3) has lost three of his last four fights, including a unanimous-decision setback to Tony Martin at UFC Fight Night 103 back in January.
