UFC officials announced Monday that Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje will coach opposite each other on The Ultimate Fighter 26, which will feature women’s flyweight competitors.
Gaethje (18-0) is coming off a spectacular UFC debut in which he stopped Michael Johnson by second-round TKO at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale on July 7th. The win was the former WSOF lightweight champion’s 15th by knockout.
Meanwhile, Alvarez (28-5, 1 No-Contest) heads into this matchup off a No-Contest against Dustin Poirier at UFC 211 in May. Prior to that, the Philadelphia native dropped the UFC lightweight title to Conor McGregor last November at UFC 205.
These two will likely fight in December while TUF 26 will air on August 30th on FS1.
