Opening Betting Odds for UFC Futures including Woodley-Maia, Cyborg-Evinger & Pettis-Moreno

MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas just opened betting lines for several future UFC matchups in the coming months, including the vacant women’s featherweight title fight between Cris “Cyborg” Justino vs. Tonya Evinger and the welterweight title matchup between Tyron Woodley vs. Demain Maia at UFC 214 on July 29th in Anaheim.

Up first though is the co-main event at UFC on FOX 25 pitting Darren Elkins against Dennis Bermudez. Elkins is coming off one of the biggest upsets of the year when he took out Mirsad Bektic in the third round at UFC 209. Meanwhile, Bermudez is looking to bounce back from his first-round knockout loss to “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in February at UFC Fight Night 104.

Also on the main card at UFC on FOX 25 are two light heavyweight fighters looking to move up the ranks, as Gian Villante battles Patrick Cummins. Villante heads into this matchup off a knockout loss to Shogun Rua in March, and Cummins won a majority decision against Jan Błachowicz at UFC 210 in April.

A week later, the organization will put on its second Pay-Per-View event this month with UFC 214. The women’s vacant featherweight title is on the line as “Cyborg” faces Invicta FC bantamweight champion Evinger. “Cyborg” hasn’t lost since March 2005 while Evinger heads into this championship showdown on an 11-fight unbeaten streak.

Welterweight gold is also up for grabs at UFC 214 as welterweight champ Woodley battles veteran Demian Maia. Woodley is currently riding a four-fight unbeaten streak while Maia boasts a seven-fight win streak. This card also features former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler battling Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Lawler hasn’t competed since he lost the 170-pound strap to Woodley in July 2015. Cerrone is coming off a TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC on FOX 23 in January.

In addition, a pivotal matchup at 205 pounds features Jimi Manuwa taking on Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 214. Manuwa has won back-to-back fights by knockout, while Oezdemir became the first fighter to knockout Misha Cirkunov in his last outing. The winner of this matchup could fight the winner of the evening’s headliner — Daniel Cormier vs. Jon Jones.

Earlier on the UFC 214 card in what could be one of the best featherweight matchups we’ll see this year, Ricardo Lamas takes on Jason Knight. Lamas is coming off an impressive submission victory over Charles Oliveira while Knight earned the biggest win of his career in his last outing, stopping Chas Skelly at UFC 211 in May.

Lines are also set for the UFC Fight Night 114 main event between Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno in Mexico City on August 5th. Peitts was initially slated to take on Henry Cejudo at UFC 211, but a hand injury forced the former title challenger out of the matchup, and the fight was cancelled. The Roufusport product Pettis is currently riding a three-fight win streak while Moreno has yet to taste defeat in his UFC tenure, winning three in a row.

Finally, in the main event at UFC Fight Night 115 on September 2nd in Rotterdam, Stefan Struve will look to push his winning streak to three straight when he takes on former Bellator champion Alexander Volkov. Since losing back-to-back fights by knockout against Mark Hunt and Alistiar Overeem, Struve has won three of his last four. Volkov has won four in a row, including back-to-back wins in the UFC over Timothy Johnson and most recently Roy Nelson at UFC on FOX 24 in April.
