MMA Odds and Ends for Monday: Former UFC champ Frank Mir announces his release from the promotion

Frank Mir announced over the weekend that his 16-year run with the UFC has finally come to an end.

Mir (18-11) was a two-time UFC champion in a career that started at UFC 34 in 2001. The 38-year-old went 16-11 with the Las Vegas-based promotion and was asking for his release after his March 2016 loss to Mark Hunt where he was flagged by USADA.
