MMA Odds and Ends for Thursday: Tom Gallicchio vs. James Krause set for Friday’s TUF 25 Finale

Following the last taped episode of The Ultimate Fighter 25 on Wednesday, losing semifinalists Tom Gallicchio and James Krause will battle this Friday (July 7, 2017) in this year’s TUF Finale at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Gallicchio (19-9) came up short against finalist Dhiego Lima on the show. The 30-year old also defeated Eddie Gordon and Justin Edwards during this season.

Krause (23-7) lost by submission to finalist Jesse Taylor on the final episode as well. Prior to that, the Glory MMA product defeated Johnny Nunez and Ramsey Nijem during this season. He was the only member of the cast who is currently under UFC contract.

‘Shogun’ Rua vs. Ovince Saint Preux rematch scheduled for UFC Fight Night in Japan this September

UFC officials announced Wednesday that PRIDE legend Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will face Ovince Saint Preux in a rematch at UFC Fight Night Japan on September 23rd.

Rua (25-10) has won three straight fights since their first encounter, where the Brazilian lost via first-round TKO. The 35-year-old recently scored a third-round TKO win over Gian Villante in his last bout at UFC Fight Night 106 in March.

Meanwhile, Saint Preux (20-10) is coming off a submission victory against Marcos Rogerio de Lima, which snapped a three-bout skid. The Strikeforce veteran will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since 2015. Stay tuned to MMAOddsBreaker.com for more updates on this card when they become avaliable.
