Five Crazy UFC 161 Prop Bets That Cashed Big

rfa-6 There’s always some crazy prop bets on the board for every UFC event, and while the majority of them are just fool’s gold, sometimes a few of them do cash out big time. Here’s five crazy prop bets that would have won you big money if you bet on them at UFC 161, based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers: James Krause Wins in Round 3 (+2575) By far the biggest prop bet of the night to cash was James Krause wins in round 3 over Sam Stout, which cashed out at a ginormous +2575 after Krause tapped out Stout with a air-tight guillotine choke with 13 seconds left in the match. I feel like I’m making up words here to describe this bet but props like this do not cash often at all and it might be one of the biggest underdogs of the year to pay out. If you made a bet on this — and if anyone did, please let me know — I commend you because this is one of those props where I look at the number beside it and I get shivers down my arm thinking about how happy I’d be right now had I bet some cash on it. James Krause Wins Submission of the Night (+1300) Not only did Krause defeat Stout via submission in round 3, but he also won the event’s Submission of the Night award for a total of $100,000 in bonuses — not bad for a night’s work. The prop bet for Krause to win Submission of the Night was +1300 so if you bet on this one congrats to you as well because I didn’t see a finish of Stout coming easily and for Krause to win the fight with only seconds to go shows just how talented he is and that he’s someone to put your money on going forward. Shawn Jordan Wins Knockout of the Night (+1600) As there was only one knockout on the entire card, Shawn Jordan knew he picked up an extra $50,000 when the final fight of the night ended and he was the only one with a TKO beside his name. The prop for Jordan to win the Knockout of the Night prop paid out at +1600 so if you were backing Jordan and put some cash down on this one you made out like a bandit when he finished Pat Barry in only 59 seconds. Rashad Evans Wins Via Split/Majority Decision (+950) Ever since it was announced I knew the fight between Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson was about as close as it gets and the fact the fight went to split decision wasn’t surprising to me at all. Now, I just want to know why I didn’t put a flier down on the Evans wins by split/majority decision prop because it paid out at a whopping +950, a huge number for a fight that was always going to be competitive if it hit the cards. If you bet on this one, congrats, but I don’t know of anyone who put their money down on this prop. Roland Delorme Wins By Decision (+503) The fight between Roland Delorme and Edwin Figueroa went down to the wire but at the end of three rounds it was Delorme who got his hand raised, all three judges scoring it 29-28 in the Canadian’s favor. With most expecting Delorme to get the submission, the prop on him to win by decision went up to a ridiculous +503 and anyone who bet on it cashed out big time when he got the nod on the scorecards.
