Here is my main card parlay for UFC Fight Night 112…
Light Heavyweight bout: Dominick Reyes (-320) vs. Joachim Christenson (+240)
Gabe’s Thoughts: Reyes is an undefeated and untested light heavyweight making his UFC debut in this contest against Christenson, who is coming off a loss and looking to return to his winning ways in this main card showdown. I think Reyes is the better fighter of the two, and I see him having the brighter future as well. I think there is a good chance he finishes this fight, but I could also see him taking a win on the judges’ scorecards, though his cardio will be something to keep an eye on outside of the opening stanza. I think Reyes is worth playing at the current heavily juiced price of -320, as I think he should be a 4-to-1 betting favorite heading into this 205-pound matchup.
Gabe’s Call: Reyes by T/KO (punches, 1:01 round 1)
Featherweight bout: Dennis Siver (-245) vs. BJ Penn (+175)
Gabe’s Thoughts: At this point in their careers, I think Siver is the superior mixed martial artist of the two heading into this 145-pound bout. Penn would have to employ his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to have success in this contest, and I don’t exactly love his chances of finding success with that. I don’t know if he will be able to take Siver down. On the feet, Siver has a clear as day advantage and stands a good chance of stopping Penn with strikes, especially with his devastating shots to the body. People have been wanting to see this fight because they believe Siver is a beatable opponent for Penn, but I’m not so sure about that. I see this as being Siver’s fight to lose. A win here for Penn would be a storybook outcome, but I think the chances of it happening are slim. I see value in Siver at -245, as I believe he should be a 3-to-1 betting favorite heading into this contest.
Gabe’s Call: Siver by T/KO (body kick, 2:25 round 1)
Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Reyes (-320) and Siver (-245) at -118
