The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be returning to Singapore for the second time in promotional history this Saturday (June 17, 2017) with UFC Fight Night 111: Holm vs. Correia. Here is my parlay:
Women’s Bantamweight bout: Holly Holm (-600) vs. Bethe Correia (+450)
Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this main event contest scheduled for five rounds will be a walk in the park for Holm, and I see it being her fight to lose. I think she will break her three-fight losing skid with an impressive victory over Correira, and I see it either being a T/KO or a one-sided unanimous decision. This is definitely a big fight for both ladies, but I just don’t see how Correia can pull out a win. At her heavily juiced betting price of -600, I think Holm still holds value because I think she should be favored at above 10-to-1. I don’t think Correia can stop Holm with strikes or do enough to make it a close fight and edge out a decision. I don’t think a submission finish is a likely outcome either. It’s hard to see a legitimate route to victory for the Brazilian in this bout, so in this spot, I really like Holm to get her hand raised and come through for this parlay.
Gabe’s Call: Holm by T/KO (head-kick and punches, 4:52 round 4)
Heavyweight bout: Marcin Tybura (-250) vs. Andrei Arlovski (+210)
Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a classic case of a fighter on his way up versus a fighter on his way out. There’s no good reason the UFC should make this matchup other than to get Tybura a victory over a name opponent. Arlovski’s back is against the wall heading into this one, similar to Mark Hunt’s last week in his matchup against Derrick Lewis. Last week, I favored Hunt as an underdog and predicted he would score the upset victory. This week, I like the favorite’s chances of getting the job done. I think he can win this fight by T/KO, submission or decision. I believe he should be a 3-to-1 betting favorite here, so I like him for a parlay at his current offering price of -250.
Gabe’s Call: Tybura by T/KO (punches, 1:55 round 1)
Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Holm (-600) and Tybura (-260) at -158
