MMAOddsBreaker Rankings Update: Post-UFC Fight Night 110

With UFC Fight Night 110 taking place last weekend, the MMAOddsBreaker rankings were bound to get shaken up. MMAOddsbreaker’s Brian Hemminger (@BrianHemminger) has taken over the reigns of the rankings, which are updated after nearly every UFC event. As always, we only show changes in the rankings with this update. To access the full MMAOddsBreaker rankings, click here. Disagree? Heavyweight

  1. Stipe Miocic
  2. Fabricio Werdum
  3. Cain Velasquez
  4. Alistair Overeem
  5. Francis Ngannou
  6. Junior dos Santos
  7. Ben Rothwell
  8. Mark Hunt (+1)
  9. Derrick Lewis (-1)
  10. Andrei Arlovski
  11. Travis Browne
  12. Stefan Struve
  13. Curtis Blaydes
  14. Marcin Tybura
  15. Alexander Volkov

Mark Hunt is 43 years old, but he still is as dangerous as ever. The “Super Samoan” faced a very sturdy challenge in Derrick Lewis this past weekend. Hunt fought Lewis incredibly intelligently, utilizing proper range, patience and power to perplex his opponent, eventually wearing him down with body shots and leg kicks to set up a fourth-round TKO finish that potentially put him into semi-retirement. Hunt has a few fights left on his contract, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him stick around for a while longer.

Middleweight

  1. Yoel Romero
  2. Robert Whittaker
  3. Luke Rockhold
  4. Gegard Mousasi
  5. Michael Bisping
  6. Jacare Souza
  7. Chris Weidman
  8. Derek Brunson (+1)
  9. Anderson Silva (-1)
  10. Thales Leites
  11. David Branch
  12. Krzysztof Jotko
  13. Antonio Carlos Junior
  14. Tim Boetsch
  15. Anthony Smith

Derek Brunson didn’t just win this past Saturday, he annihilated his opponent Daniel Kelly via vicious first round knockout. Brunson’s victory, combined with the fact that over 80 percent of the media felt he defeated Anderson Silva in his previous fight, allowed me to feel comfortable enough to rank him ahead of the former UFC middleweight champion.

Flyweight

  1. Demetrious Johnson
  2. Joseph Benavidez
  3. Kyoji Horiguchi
  4.  Henry Cejudo
  5. Ray Borg
  6. Wilson Reis
  7. Jussier Formiga (+1)
  8. Ben Nguyen (+5)
  9. Tim Elliott (-2)
  10. Ali Bagautinov (-1)
  11. Brandon Moreno (-1)
  12. Sergio Pettis (-1)
  13. Ian McCall (-1)
  14. Magomed Bibulatov
  15. Dustin Ortiz

Ben Nguyen makes a big jump in the rankings after disposing of Tim Elliott in less than a minute this past weekend. What makes this performance so impressive is that Elliott had easily defeated Louis Smolka in his last bout. Smolka remains the only man to defeat Nguyen inside the Octagon. Also, Elliott had gone the full five rounds against current flyweight champion and pound-for-pound king Demetrous Johnson, so beating him quickly puts an extra feather in his cap.
