The 11-week, 11-event UFC marathon continues with a stop in Singapore this coming weekend. The event will be a rare early morning offering for those in North America, with the main card set to start at 8 a.m. (ET) on Saturday.
UFC Fight Night 111 will be headlined by a women’s bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and past contender Bethe Correia. Both fighters face an uncertain future if they drop this bout, as Holm enters on a three-fight losing skid while Correia has gone 1-2-1 in her last four outings.
The betting odds have been released for nearly a month for this contest, and support has been in Holm’s favor. After opening a -350 favorite (bet $350 to win $100), she has ballooned up to -600 as of Sunday night. Correia started at +250 (bet $100 to win $250), and she can now be had at +450 at Several Bookmakers.
The only other bout with a betting line before today features another former UFC champion. Andrei Arlovski’s reign as heavyweight champion took place over a decade ago, but he’s remained a relevant fixture in the division since then. A four-fight winning streak upon his return to the UFC has turned into a four-fight losing streak for Arlovski, who could be looking at the end of his UFC career should he lose – as many expect he will – to Marcin Tybura. The Polish heavyweight has won his last two in the UFC, and he enters this bout as a -250 favorite, with the comeback on Arlovski at +210.
The remaining two main card bouts both take place at welterweight and provide intrigue for very different reasons. Longtime prospect Colby Covington has looked more and more impressive throughout his 6-1 UFC tenure, but in Dong Hyun Kim he’ll face the biggest test of his career, and a man whose size, strength and grappling ability may be able to neutralize his wrestling. The last main card bout sees former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos become the latest fighter to move up a weight class, as he makes the jump to 170 pounds to take on Tarec Saffiedine.
The preliminary card continues the trend of former champions, as former PRIDE lightweight kingpin Takanori Gomi, more than a decade removed from his glory days, looks to put the brakes on a three-fight losing streak against Jon Tuck. Aside from that bout, the prelims are largely comprised of local fighters who aren’t as familiar to the Octagon, including four newcomers. However, there is a gem on the undercard in the former of flyweights Justin Scoggins and Yuta Sasaki.
