Here is my parlay:
Flyweight bout: Tim Elliott (-200) vs. Ben Nguyen (+170)
Gabe’s Thoughts: If MMA math means anything, then Elliott should absolutely destroy Nguyen in this contest, as he defeated Louis Smolka, who dominated Nguyen in their meeting. If people follow that equation, then they may end up losing a pretty penny, or sweating out a close win, because I do see this as being a closely contested matchup at 125 pounds. At the current odds, I see it as a dog or pass situation, and I am ultimately going to end up taking a pass on playing the underdog. That said, I do think there is some value to be had in the Total of Over 2.5 rounds at -210, as regardless of who gets his hand raised, I think it comes following three rounds of action more often than not. The more I look into this matchup, the more I see Nguyen as a live dog, but I just can’t pull the trigger on a straight play. I’m going to play it safe and parlay the Over.
Gabe’s Call: Elliott by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
Welterweight bout: Dominique Steele (-145) vs. Luke Jumeau (+125)
Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe that Steele is the superior grappler of the two heading into this 170-pound matchup, and I see him finding success with his takedowns. I think he will also find success with his ground-and-pound, as I see a TKO stoppage in that fashion being a likely outcome to this matchup. I think a win on the scorecards is slightly more likely, but I do see Steele’s superior wrestling making the difference here, as I think he grinds Jumeau out for a unanimous-decision victory, potentially securing a TKO stoppage along the way.
Gabe’s Call: Steele by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Elliott/Nguyen Over 2.5 rounds (-200) parlayed with Steele (-145) at +153
