TSN.ca broke the news Wednesday that former former flyweight title challengers Henry Cejudo and Wilson Reis along with women’s bantamweights Sarah Moras and Ashlee Evans-Smith have been added to the UFC 216 card scheduled for September 9th in Edmonton, AB.
Cejudo (10-2) was slated to fight Sergio Pettis at UFC 211 before a hand injury forced him out of the matchup. The former Olympic gold medalist will be looking for his first win since November 2015 as he heads into this matchup off back-to-back losses to Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez.
Meanwhile, Reis (22-7) had his three-fight win streak snapped in his last fight at UFC on FOX 24 as Demetrious Johnson submitted the Brazilian for the first time in his career. The 32-year-old will look to avoid back-to-back losses for the first time since 2011.
Moras (4-2) competes for the first time in two years and heads into this matchup on off a unanimous decision loss to Jéssica Andrade at UFC Fight Night 71. The Canadian has only fought twice since 2013.
Evans-Smith (5-2) is coming off a unanimous-decision setback to Ketlen Vieira at UFC on FOX 24, which snapped her two-fight win streak. The 29-year-old has gone 2-2 since making her UFC debut in 2014.
