Here are my live dogs for the prelims…
Lightweight bout: Damien Brown (-160) vs. Vinc Pichel (+120)
Gabe’s Thoughts: Brown is coming off a split-decision win over Jon Tuck and will be looking ot make it two straight for himself inside the Octagon when he takes on Pichel, who had an extended injury layoff following a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Njokuani. I believe Pichel is the superior mixed martial artist of the two heading into this 155-pound contest, and I see him as being the more likely fighter to finish the bout, be it by T/KO or submission. Despite traveling to enemy territory for the contest, I think he should be a -180 betting favorite, so I see tremendous value in him at +120. I do think this is his fight to lose and love him at the current price. I’ll take it — all the way to the bank, hopefully.
Gabe’s Call: Pichel by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Pichel (+120)
Flyweight bout: John Moraga (-230) vs. Ashkan Mokhtarian (+170)
Gabe’s Thoughts: To put it simply, I think there’s a great amount of value with the promotional newcomer Mokhtarian at his current offering underdog price of +170. I believe he should be a 2-to-1 betting favorite heading into this 125-pound contest scheduled for three rounds.
Gabe’s Call: Mokhtarian by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Mokhtarian (+170)
