Your Best Bets for UFC 212’s ‘Fight of the Night’

UFC 212: Aldo vs. Holloway

Date: June 3, 2017
Arena: Jeunesse Arena
City: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is set to return to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the eighth time in promotional history this Saturday (June 3, 2017) with UFC 212: Aldo vs. Holloway. The 12-fight card is scheduled to kick off with preliminary card action on UFC Fight Pass at 6:30 p.m. ET. Prelims will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m., with the main card getting underway on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.

The “Fight of the Night” plays that hold the most value are:

Aldo/Holloway +300 1u to win 3u

This five-round main event title fight has “fireworks” written all over it. I expect this to be an entertaining battle from start to finish, regardless of how long it lasts. Jose Aldo bounced back into the win column last summer at UFC 200 with a dominant unanimous-decision win over Frankie Edgar, and he aims to make it two straight against the Hawaiian Max Holloway, who enjoys an impressive 10-fight winning streak heading into this title fight. Should these featherweight champions manage to take home “Fight of the Night” honors, it would be the fourth time for Aldo while being the first for Holloway.

Gadelha/Kowalkiewicz +750 1u to win 7.5u

I see value in the +750 betting line for this co-main event because I think it is going to be a competitive contest. I think Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz stand a good chance of taking home the bonus and this is a price that is tough to pass up. This is definitely going to be a battle from start to finish, and I think it will be an entertaining one. I don’t see Gadelha finding success in grinding Kowalkiewicz out for three rounds, though that is a possible outcome as well. The Brazilian is coming off a unanimous decision over Cortney Casey and will be looking to make it two straight for herself inside the Octagon by defeating the Pole, who herself looks to bounce back into the win column following a failed bid at the gold. Should these ladies take home the bonus, it would be the second time for Gadelha and the first for Kowalkiewicz.

Medeiros/Silva +575 1u to win 5.75u

This is going to be a barn-burner in the UFC’s welterweight division, and fireworks are expected from start to finish, whether it lasts one minute or goes all 15. Yancy Medeiros and Erick Silva are both generally very entertaining fighters who deliver and fight for the finish. Medeiros is coming off a submission win over Sean Spencer while Silva also had a submission victory against Luan Chagas in his last fight. Both 170-pounders aim to make it two in a row for themselves with an impressive victory in this contest. Should they manage to take home the bonus, it would be the second time for Medeiros and the fourth for Silva.
