Bellator 136’s Will Brooks: ‘Dave Jansen couldn’t bust a grape in a fruit fight’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 136 lightweight Will Brooks about his upcoming main event title bout this Friday night (April 10, 2015) against Dave Jansen at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California.

The current champion was surprised to hear his upcoming opponent expects to knock him out, and he had a very entertaining response:

“How many knockouts does Dave Jansen have on his record, one or two in 20 wins? The majority of his wins are by decision. Dave Jansen couldn’t bust a grape in a fruit fight if he wanted to. Let’s be serious. The timing has passed for Dave Jansen. For his breed of fighter, the time has passed for those types of guys. He’s very slow, very basic skill level, not evolved enough, very telegraphed. He’s a very old school kind of guy. We’re different breeds of fighters now. We’re athletes on top of having skills. He’s trying to motivate himself for this fight and I’ve seen a lot of his fights, that does not bode well for him.”
