UFC Fight Night 64 took place earlier today (April 11, 2015) at the Tauron Arena in Krakow, Poland, and the card was very mediocre as it featured several ugly decisions mixed with some occasional bright spots throughout. Overall from a betting perspective, six favorites and six underdogs won based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Favorites That Won In the preliminary card main event, Leon Edwards electrified the crowd with a lightning-quick knockout of Seth Baczynski. Edwards dropped “The Polish Pistola” with his first punch and it was all over in just eight seconds. Edwards made history as a -165 (Bet $165 to win $100) favorite while Baczinski was blistered as a +155 (Bet $100 to win $155) underdog. In middleweight action, Bartosz Fabinski put on a takedown and top control clinic against Gareth McClellen, easily landing ground and pound and overall outworking the South African en route to a dominant unanimous decision victory. Fabinski delivered as a -130 favorite while McClellen was smoked as a +120 dog. In a welterweight contest, Sergio Moraes brought a perplexing game plan for his bout against newcomer Mickael Lebout. Despite holding a massive edge on the ground, Moraes mainly kept the fight standing. This kept the fight way closer than it should have been. A late takedown helped Moraes take the third round and the decision on the judges scorecards. Moraes barely came through as a huge -525 favorite while Lebout put on a valiant effort as a +450 underdog. In women’s strawweight action, Alexandra Albu put on a terrific performance against Izabela Badurek. Albu was clearly the superior striker, but Badurek tried to close the distance with clinch and takedown attempts. Badurek finally secured a takedown in round two but she landed right into a guillotine choke from Albu to force the tap. Albu won as a -215 favorite while Badurek was submitted at +195. In the lightweight division, Stevie Ray made a great first impression with UFC fans, surviving several leg lock attempts from Marcin Bandel and eventually putting the Polish fighter away with strikes from backmount in the second round. Ray had a great debut as a -150 favorite while Bandel ran out of steam as a +140 underdog. In the opening bout of the evening, featherweights Taylor Lapilus and Rocky Lee went the full three-round distance. Lee tried to get the fight to the canvas, but Lapilus kept the bout upright for the majority of the contest, outstriking Lee badly, although the TUF China veteran held on to see the judges’ scorecards. In the end, the judges sided with Lapilus with 30-27 scores on all three cards. Lapilus came through as a -145 favorite while Lee failed to cash as a +135 underdog. Underdogs That Won In the main event, heavyweight Mirko Cro Cop earned his sweet revenge agaimst Gabriel Gonzaga. Cro Cop did nothing in the first 13 minutes but then exploded with a violent flurry of elbows to earn a surprising third round stoppage. Cro Cop avenged as a +190 dog while Gonzaga was elbowed to oblivion as a -210 favorite. In the co-main event of the evening, Jimi Manuwa eked out a close decision over hometown hero Jan Blachowicz in a light heavyweight contest. It was a pretty dull bout with a majority of the fight taking place in the clinch. Manuwa pulled through as a slight +105 underdog while Blachowicz failed to cash as a -115 favorite. In welterweight action, Sheldon Westcott started strong against Pawel Pawlak but he completely ran out of steam just like in his UFC debut. It wasn’t pretty but Pawlak outworked Westcott to win the final two rounds and steal a unanimous decision. Pawlak earned the nod as a +200 dog while Westcott ran out of gas as a -220 betting favorite In a shocking strawweight fight, Maryna Moroz made quick work of top contendee Joanne Calderwood. Moroz took the fight to the ground and immediately latched on her patented armbar to force the tap in just about 60 seconds. Moroz scored aa massive upset as a +450 underdog while Calderwood was submitted as a whopping -525 favorite. In the featherweight division, Yaotzin Meza moved up a weight class to take out short notice UFC newcomer Damian Stasiak. Meza was able to repeatedly close the distance and secure takedowns where he dominated on the ground with punches, submission attempts and top control. Stasiak’s moments were few and far between and the judges sided unanimously with Meza. In the end, Meza was victorious as a +120 underdog while Stasiak came up short at -130. In heavyweight action, Anthony Hamilton used his size and strength to grind his bout against Daniel Omielanczuk to a halt. Both men faded down the stretch and this fight was very ugly at times, but Hamilton did enough to win two rounds on all three judges’ scorecards. Hamilton won a unanimous decision as a +120 underdog while Omielanczuk lost as a -130 favorite.
