Cage Warriors 84 emanates from The 02 Indigo in London, England this Friday (June 2, 2017) at 1 p.m. (ET). In the main event, Nathaniel Wood looks to capture the vacant bantamweight title when he battles Marko Kovacevic.
Wood (10-3) has won four of his last five fights, including a second-round TKO victory over UFC veteran Vaughn Lee in his last fight at Cage Warriors 82 in April. “The Prospect” boasts six career wins by knockout and two by submission. Kovacevic (9-1) will be making his Cage Warriors debut and is currently riding a seven-fight win streak. The 27-year-old has won six career fights by submission and hasn’t lost a fight since a 2013 setback to LFA lightweight Slobodan Maksimović.
In the co-main event, Matt Inman looks to get back on the winning track against Brad Wheeler. Inman (19-9) last competed at Cage Warriors 80 in February, suffering a first-round TKO loss to Bellator/UFC vet Karl Amoussou for the promotions vacant welterweight title. The Manchester native is now 2-2 in his last four fights. Wheeler (16-10) heads into this fight having won seven of his last eight matchups. The 26-year-old has finished five of his opponents during that span.
Also on the card is a two-time contestant in The Ultimate Fighter Norman Paraisy who takes on undefeated Kenneth Bergh in a welterweight affair. Parasiy (15-4-2, 1 No-Contest) hasn’t competed since losing to Elias Urbina by unanimous decision on Season 23 of TUF. The 30-year-old Paris native will be looking for his first win since April 2014. Bergh (5-0) was also on TUF 23, where he was ousted by Eric Spicely via first-round submission. The 27-year-old has since won back-to-back fights by submission over Brett McDermott and Ross Cooper.
