KSW 39: Colosseum emanates from the Stadion PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland this Saturday (May 27, 2017) at 11 a.m. (ET). In the main event, Mamed Khalidov looks for his 14th straight win when he battles Borys Mańkowski in a 181-pound catchweight affair.
Khalidov (33-4-2) is coming off a 21-second knockout over UFC veteran Luke Barnatt at ACB 54: Supersonic in March. The “Cannibal” hasn’t lost since a 2010 unanimous decision loss to former UFC fighter Jorge Santiago. Mankowski (19-5-1) heads into this matchup on a six-fight win streak, including victories over notable UFC veterans Jesse Taylor and John MacGuire. The 27-year-old has lost just once since 2010, finishing four of his last six opponents.
In the co-feature, former strongman Mariusz Pudzianowski looks for back-to-back victories against Tyberiusz Kowalczyk in a heavyweight contest. Pudzianowski (10-5) rebounded from two straight losses by earning a first-round TKO victory over Paweł Rak at KSW 37 in December. Kowalczyk (3-0) made his professional debut in 2014 and has fought just twice since 2015. He heads into this matchup off a first-round stoppage victory over Tomasz Czerwiński at Fight Exclusive Night 14 in October.
Also featured on the card is UFC veteran Norman Parke, who battles Mateusz Gamrot for the lightweight title. Parke (23-5-1) has won consecutive fights over Andrew Fisher and Paul Redmond since being released from the UFC in early 2016. “Stormin” looks to make it three straight wins for the first time since 2013. Meanwhile, Gamrot (12-0) is coming off a second-round submission victory over Renato Gomes at KSW 36 in October. The 26-year-old won the vacant KSW lightweight title in May 2016 after defeating Mansour Barnaoui by unanimous decision at KSW 35.
