ONE Championship: Dynasty of Heroes emanates from the the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore early this Friday (May 26, 2017) at 8:30 a.m. (ET) and will be streaming live for U.S. viewers on FloCombat. In the main event, “Unstoppable” Angela Lee defends her atomweight title against fellow undefeated fighter Istela Nunes.
Lee (7-0) has won six of her seven career fights by submission, including a third-round stoppage win over Jenny Huang back in March. Nunes (5-0) returns to the cage for the first time since August 2016 when she notched a unanimous-decision victory over Mei Yamaguchi at ONE Championship: Heroes of the World. The 24-year-old has remained unbeaten in her career, with two of her six career victories coming by knockout.
In the co-main event, Ben Askren competes for the first time since April 2016 when he takes on Agilan “Alligator” Thani. Askren (15-0) boasts wins over current Bellator champion Douglas Lima, former champion Andrey Koreshkov and current UFC welterweight Lyman Good. Thani (7-0) fought earlier this year, earning a second-round submission victory over Jeff Huang at ONE Championship: Throne of Tigers back in February. The 21-year-old fighter has won all of his fights by stoppage, with all but one of his professional matchups coming under the ONE banner.
In a submission-only grappling super-match, Garry “The Lion Killer Tonon will also face off against former ONE lightweight champion Shinya Aoki. Tonon holds no-gi victories over Gilbert Burns, Dillon Danis, Marcin Held, Vinny Magalhaes and Beneil Dariush. However, he was upset earlier this year at Submission Underground 3 by UFC middleweight Antonio Carlos Junior. Aoki hasn’t competed since a knockout loss to Eduard Folayang at ONE Championship: Defending Honor in November. The 34-year-old champion has competed against Kron Gracie, Roger Gracie and even Fedor Emelianenko in a grappling match.
