Here are my plays:
Middleweight bout: Jack Hermansson (-145) vs. Alex Nicholson (+125)
Gabe’s Thoughts: Both middleweights will be looking to bounce back into the win column following defeats in their most recent outings, with Hermansson being submitted by Cezar Ferreira and Nicholson dropping a unanimous decision to Sam Alvey. I think this is a close fight at 185 pounds, and I see some betting value in the underdog Nicholson at +125, as I think he should be a slight -130 betting favorite heading in. I think he is the more likely fighter to finish, and should the fight hit the judges’ scorecards for a decision, I slightly lean in his favor there, as well.
Gabe’s Call: Nicholson by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Nicholson (+125)
Lightweight bout: Nico Musoke (-150) vs. Bojan Velickovic (+130)
Gabe’s Thoughts: Musoke is returning to action following an extended layoff, and he will be looking to break back into the win column by taking out the Serbian Velickovic in front of his hometown crowd in Sweden. Velickovic is traveling to enemy territory for this matchup following a unanimous-decision loss to Sultan Aliev five months ago. I think Musoke will find success with his grappling in this welterweight matchup, as I see him pressing Velickovic against the cage and securing takedowns. I see Musoke making it ugly and pulling out a victory on the judge’ scorecards here in his return to the cage. A finish would not surprise me, but I think a decision W is the most likely outcome.
Gabe’s Call: Musoke by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Musoke (-150)
