MMAFighting reported on Wednesday that a featherweight matchup pitting Dennis Bermudez against Darren Elkins will take place July 22nd at UFC on FOX 25 in Long Island, NY.
Bermudez (16-6) had his two-fight win streak snapped in his last fight when he was knocked out by the “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at UFC Fight Night 104 in February. The TUF 14 Finalist has a 9-4 record in the UFC.
Elkins (22-5) is coming off one of the best come-from-behind victories in MMA history when he defeated Mirsad Bektić at UFC 209 in March. The Team Alpha Male product is currently riding a four-fight win streak.
Mairbek Taisumov off next Sunday’s UFC Fight Night 109 card due to injury UFC lightweight Maribek Taisumov’s bad luck continues as he’s been forced out of his matchup with Joaquim Silva next Sunday at UFC Fight Night 109 due to a shoulder injury. Taisumov (24-5) posted the news on his Facebook account on Wednesday. Stay tuned to MMAOddsBreaker.com to see if the promotion is able to find a replacement for Silva on short notice.
Amanda Ribas signs with the UFC, faces Juliana Lima at TUF 25 Finale
UFC officials annouced Wednesday that promotional newcomer Amanda Ribas will face Juliana Lima at the TUF 25 Finale July 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Ribas (6-1) has won six of her last seven bouts, including three knockouts and two submissions. The American Top Team product is just 23 years old and turned pro in 2014.
Meanwhile, Lima (9-3) is coming off a decision victory over J.J. Aldrich which pushed her Octagon record to 3-2. The 35-year-old’s only losses in the UFC are to current champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and former champ Carla Esparza.

The UFC returns to Japan in September The UFC will return to the legendary Saitama Super Arena in Japan on September 23rd for a Fight Night event. No matchups have been booked for the card. It will be the fifth time the Las Vegas-based promotion will hold an event in this arena, which used to be home to the PRIDE Fighting Championships.
