The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to return to Dallas, TX for the fourth time in promotional history with UFC 211: Miocic vs. Dos Santos II. The incredibly stacked 14-fight card is scheduled to kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 6 p.m. ET, which will continue on FX at 8 p.m., with the main card getting underway on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.
My Over/Under Totals are:
Heavyweight title bout: Stipe Miocic (-130) vs. Junior Dos Santos (+110)
Gabe’s Thoughts: I agree with the current betting odds in that this heavyweight title rematch is a very close fight. Personally, I played dos Santos when he was at +155, but at the current odds, I cannot recommend a play on him. That said, I do really like a play on the Total of Over 1.5 rounds here at -200. I got that at -170, but I believe the line still holds value at the current price and is worth playing. I see both heavyweights starting off a bit slow and trying to figure each other out, despite the fact that they have previously shared the Octagon with each other for 25 minutes. I think both heavyweights will be cautious early, trying to find their rhythm and timing. Much like their first bout, I favor this rematch to hit the judges’ scorecards for a decision, which makes me really like the Total of Over 1.5 rounds.
Gabe’s Call: Dos Santos by Split Decision (47-48, 48-47, 48-47)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 1.5 rounds (-200)
Heavyweight bout: Chase Sherman (-145) vs. Rashad Coulter (+120)
Gabe’s Thoughts: Coulter is making his Octagon debut in this contest against Sherman, who is on a two-fight deficit in the UFC and has his back against the wall. Coulter is a finisher, but Sherman is tough to put away. so I think he will manage to survive the early onslaught in this bout. Coulter is up there in age and has never been out of the first round, so I am not confident he will be able to win the second and third rounds against Sherman. I think this is a close fight that could go either way, so in that sense, I do agree with the betting lines. At the current odds, I do think this is a “dog or pass” situation, but I can’t back the dog here, especially considering the fact that he is taking this bout on short notice. I can see Sherman finishing him late or pulling away with a decision, but regardless of the outcome, I think this heavyweight scrap goes over seven and a half minutes of action more often than not, so at +105, I do like the Total of Over 1.5 rounds for a wager.
Gabe’s Call: Coulter by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
Gabe’s Recommended Play: Over 1.5 rounds (+105)
