CES 44 Opening Betting Odds

CES 44 emanates from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island on Friday night (May 12, 2017) and will be televised live on AXS TV. In the main event, featherweight champion Matt Bessette puts his title on the line against late replacement Rey Trujillo.

Bessette (21-7) was initially slated to fight fellow Bellator vet Jeremy Spoon (injury) in the main event and now takes his career high seven-fight win streak into this matchup with Trujillo. The 32-year-old has won all seven of those fights by stoppage, and he’s only lost once since 2014. Trujillo (22-18) is 2-2 in his last four fights, including a submission loss to Kolton Englund at Fury FC 16 last month in his most recent outing. The Strikeforce veteran has fought the likes of former UFC fighters Daniel Pineda and Leonard Garcia, as well as LFA champion Kevin Aguilar.

In the co-main event, heavyweight Greg Rebello looks for his seventh win in his last eight fights when he battles Kevin Sears. Rebello (21-7) boasts 13 wins by knockout and has only lost twice since 2014. Meanwhile, Sears (6-3) looks to rebound from his loss to Kelvin Tiller back in December at Shamrock FC 282. The 30-year-old will be making his promotional debut and has only gone the distance once in his career.

Also featured on this card is UFC veteran Sean Soriano, who looks to bouce back from consecutive losses against Jacob Bohn. The Combat Club product has just one win since 2014 and will be competing in his second straight fight for CES. Bohn (5-3) has lost two of his last three fights, including a first-round knockout loss to UFC featherweight Shane Burgos at CFFC 56 last year. The 28-year-old has never lost two straight fights in his pro MMA career.
