Live Dogs for UFC 211

UFC 211

Date: May 12, 2017
Arena: American Airlines Center
City: Dallas, TX

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to return to Dallas, TX for the fourth time in promotional history with UFC 211: Miocic vs. Dos Santos II. The incredibly stacked 14-fight card is scheduled to kick off with preliminary action on UFC Fight Pass at 6 p.m. ET, which will continue on FX at 8 p.m., with the main card getting underway on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are available at Several Bookmakers.

Here are my live dogs:

Women’s Strawweight title bout: Joanna Jedrzejczyk (-160) vs. Jessica Andrade (+140)

Gabe’s Thoughts: Contrary to popular opinion, I think Andrade should be a slight betting favorite heading into this five-round, co-main event title fight, so I really like her for a play at her current offering underdog price of +140. I think she is the fighter more likely to finish this fight, as well as win on the judges’ scorecards over the course of 25 minutes of action. I do see Andrade getting the better of the champion both on the feet and on the mat in this contest. I think she will manage to close distance and make it a dirty boxing match on the feet, and then take it to the mat, where she will decisively win the rounds. At this point, it’s tough to see JJ getting dethroned, but I do think Andrade is the one to do it.

Gabe’s Call: Andrade by T/KO (punches, 3:44 round 4)

Gabe’s Recommended Play: Andrade (+140)

Welterweight bout: Jorge Masvidal (-125) vs. Demian Maia (+105)

Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Maia should be a 2-to-1 betting favorite heading into this 170-pound title eliminator, so I see great value in him at his current offering price of +105. I see him finding success with his superior grappling here. I am not confident he will win this fight by submission, but I do believe that is a very possible outcome. I think it is 50/50 whether he secures the submission or wins on the judges’ scorecards. Masvidal has excellent submission defense, so I could see him surviving for 15 minutes. This fight basically comes down to whether Maia can take Masvidal down. My money says yes.

Gabe’s Call: Maia by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

Gabe’s Recommended Play: Maia (+105)
