Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsBreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC Fight Night 108 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers.
1) Cub Swanson by Decision (+335)
Swanson went the distance with Artem Lobov, getting the better of him on the feet for the majority of 25 minutes of action in the five-round main event. It was a solid performance by the Jackson-Wink MMA product, who failed to come away with the finish but managed to put on a clinic for all five rounds, though Lobov did have his moments too. Both fighters ultimately took home an extra $50k for “Fight of the Night,” and for those who wagered on Swanson winning this fight by decision, congrats for that sweet +335 payout on the prop, especially considering he was -600 straight up on the moneyline.
2) Ovince St Preux by Submission (+300)
OSP snapped a three-fight losing skid and earned his second career victory by Von Flue choke submission by tapping out Marcos Rogerio De Lima in the opening round of their main card bout. It was a solid outing by OSP, who delivered in impressive fashion in front of his home crowd and allowed those who wagered on him to win this fight by submission to cash out at a nice +300. Kudos to you if you were on that one, especially me on it, as I recommended that play at +500 in my props article for the card.
3) John Dodson by Decision (+344)
Dodson edged Eddie Wineland on the feet for three rounds to pick up a narrow unanimous-decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. Dodson’s bouts seem to be hit or miss, and this one definitely was a miss, as most felt it was a lackluster fight and performance. Most who were happy with it probably had a play on Dodson winning by decision, which paid out at a sweet +344, so congrats are in order there to those who were riding that one.
4) Brandon Moreno by Submission (+800)
Moreno defeated Dustin Ortiz via technical rear-naked choke submission in the second round of their bout. It was yet another impressive outing by Moreno, who is now riding hot on a three-fight winning streak inside the Octagon and making noise in the UFC’s flyweight division. Congratulations to those who were backing on the Mexican to win this fight by submission, as it paid out at a massive +800, which was the biggest prop bet to cash on the night.
5) Hector Sandoval by T/KO (+631)
Sandoval defeated Matt Schnell via ground-and-pound knockout with less than a minute left in the opening round of their preliminary card bout. “Kid Alex” kicked the prelims off with a high note by scoring that finish, and he ultimately made it two straight wins for himself inside the Octagon. Congrats are in order to those who wagered on the Californian to take this fight by T/KO, as it paid out at an excellent +631, the second biggest prop to hit in Nashville.
A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $508,167.
