Curtis Blaydes vs. Daniel Omielanczuk heavyweight bout set for UFC 213 

MMAJunkie reported Wednesday that a heavyweight matchup pitting Curtis Blaydes against Daniel Omielanczuk is booked for UFC 213 on July 8th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Blaydes (6-1-1 NC) is coming off a No-Contest against Adam Milstead at UFC Fight Night 104 which was initially a TKO victory.

The Elevation Fight Team product test positive for marijuana and was fined $1,000. The 26-year-old has gone 1-1 with one NC during his three fights in the UFC. 

Omielanczuk (19-7-1) heads into this contest on a two-fight skid, suffering setbacks to Stefan Struve and most recently Timothy Johnson at UFC Fight Night 107. The 34-year-old has never lost three straight fights in his 27-fight career.

Pedro Munhoz squares off with Damian Stasiak at UFC Fight Night 109 

UFC officials recently announced that Pedro Munhoz will battle Damian Stasiak at UFC Fight Night 109 on May 28th in Stockholm, Sweden. Munhoz (13-2) is coming off back-to-back victories over Russell Doane and Justin Scoggins. The former RFA bantamweight champion has gone 3-2 in the UFC, with his losses coming to top contenders Raphael Assunção and Jimmie Rivera.

Stasiak (10-3) has gone 2-0 since his loss to Yaotzin Meza in his UFC debut. The 27-year-old has won seven of his last eight fights.

Alex Volkanovski battles Mizuto Hirota at UFC Fight Night 110 in New Zealand

Australia’s Alex Volkanovski will take on Mizuto Hirota at UFC Fight Night 110 in New Zealand on June 10th. DailyTelegraph.com was the first to break the news.

Volkanovski (14-1) heads into this matchup on an 11-fight win streak, including a second-round TKO over Yusuke Kasuya at UFC Fight Night 101 this past November. “The Great” was slated to fight Michel Quinones at UFC Fight Night 105, but that matchup was scrapped due to an injury to his opponent. Hirota (18-7-2) is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Cole Miller at UFC on FOX 22. The 35-year-old hasn’t lost a fight since 2013.
