Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC on FOX 24 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers…
1) Demetrious Johnson by Submission (+725)
Johnson tied Anderson Silva’s record by securing his 10th UFC flyweight title defense with a third-round armbar submission win over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt Wilson Reis. It was a flawless outing for the champ, who executed everything perfectly from start to fight ending finish. I don’t know how I missed this line; like a dummy, I just jumped on the T/KO prop at +170 without even looking at the submission line. I knew both outcomes were very likely but just favored the T/KO finish a little more. I assumed the submission prop would be around +225, so I didn’t even bother. Now, I am certainly kicking myself. I did feel like “Mighty Mouse” would want to make a point by submitting a decorated BJJ black belt like Reis. If you were wise enough to be on this one, congratulations to you big time, as you cashed out at a massive +725!
2) Rose Namajunas by Submission (+450)
Namajunas earned a second-round rear-naked choke submission win over Michelle Waterson and finds herself back in the win column with the dominant and impressive performance. If you were wise enough to back “Thug” to win this one by tapout, you made out with a sweet +450.
3) Robert Whittaker by T/KO (+373)
Whittaker shocked many with a second-round TKO of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, which paid a nice +373.
4) Anthony Smith by T/KO (+640)
Smith scored a come-from-behind knockout of Andrew Sanchez in the third round of their preliminary card bout, making it two straight wins for him inside the Octagon, both coming by way of T/KO stoppage. It was an impressive highlight-reel finish by Smith, who continues to make noise in the UFC’s 185-pound division. Big props to those of you who were wagering on him to end this fight with strikes, as you cashed out as an incredible +640.
5) Ketlen Vieira by Decision (+310)
Vieira made it two in a row for herself inside the Octagon and remained undefeated as a pro with a unanimous decision win over Ashlee Evans-Smith. Congratulations are due to those who backed the Brazilian to pick up the win on the judges’ scorecards, as it paid out at a solid +310.
