MMAOddsBreaker’s Knockout of the Month for March 2017

MMAOddsBreaker.com‘s Knockout of the Month of March 2017 goes to UFC featherweight Darren Elkins at UFC 209 in Las Vegas, NV on March 4th.

Elkins was down big on the judges’ scorecards against American Top Team’s Mirsad Bektic heading into the third and final round of action. Cardio being his best weapon, he began taking over the fight as Bektic’s gas tank started to run low. Against the cage, “The Damage” landed a shot that put Bektic out cold, and an immediate head-kick followed as the Bosnian fell to the canvas. The referee quickly intervened and halted the action, giving Elkins the knockout victory. It was a very impressive performance by the Indiana native, and UFC commentator Joe Rogan called it the best of his pro fighting career. The come-from-behind finish will end up being a classic moment in UFC history, as Elkins was a massive underdog who handed a highly-touted prospect the first loss of his career. Congratulations, Darren Elkins!
