Robbie Lawler vs. Donald Cerrone in the works for UFC 213 Dana White confirmed to ESPN on Monday that former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler is slated to take on Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 213 on July 8th in Las Vegas. This is the second time this matchup has been proposed, as there were rumblings about these two squaring off at UFC 205 this past November in New York. Lawler (27-11, 1 No-Contest) hasn’t competed since losing the welterweight title to Tyron Woodley at UFC 201, which snapped his five-fight win streak. The 35-year-old hasn’t lost back-to-back fights since 2011. Cerrone (32-8, 1 NC) heads into this matchup off a TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC on FOX 23 this past February. The Jackson/Winklejohn product has gone 4-1 since moving up to the welterweight division last year. Also rumored on this card is a heavyweight trilogy matchup pitting former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum against Alistair Overeem. Rafael dos Anjos vs. Tarec Saffiedine slated for UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore UFC officials announced recently that former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will make his welterweight debut on June 17th at UFC Fight Night 111 in Singapore. Dos Anjos (25-9) heads into this matchup off back-to-back losses against Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson. The 32-year-old has never lost three fights in a row and will be looking for his first win since December 2015. Saffiedine (16-6) has gone 1-3 in the Octagon, including a split-decision setback to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 207 in his last fight. The former Strikeforce welterweight champion has never lost three straight fights either. Also added to the card is a flyweight encounter pitting 19-year-old newcomer Naoki Inoue (10-0) against Carls John de Tomas (6-0), who is also making his UFC debut.
