MMAOddsBreaker’s Submission of the Month for March 2017

MMAOddsBreaker.com’s Submission of the Month for March 2017 goes to UFC bantamweight Iuri Alcantara for his second-round kneebar submission of Luke Sanders at UFC 209 in Las Vegas, NV on March 4th.

Sanders stepped into the Octagon in Las Vegas as an undefeated professional mixed martial artist, and he began dominating the veteran Alcantara, nearly finishing him on a couple of occasions. The Brazilian took a brave beating but managed to stay in the fight and later took advantage of a mistake Sanders made on the mat, which allowed him to capitalize with a kneebar submission to earn the tap from Sanders. It was a surprise, come-from-behind win for Alcantara, who at that point was being counted out of the fight by nearly all spectators. The impressive submission victory puts the 36-year-old on a two-fight winning streak, with both wins coming by way of tapout. This was a big win for the Brazilian, who continues to be a threat in the UFC’s 135-pound division. Congratulations, Iuri Alcantara!
