Michael Bisping vs. Georges St-Pierre middleweight title fight set, date/location TBA UFC president Dana White announced the news Wednesday on ESPN’s SportsCenter that Georges St-Pierre will fight middleweight champion Michael Bisping in a championship bout later this year. The date and location are to be announced at a later time. St-Pierre (25-2) has not fought since a split-decision victory over Johny Hendricks in November of 2013. He competes for the first time in his career at 185 pounds. Bisping (30-7) successfully defended his middleweight title against Dan Henderson in a rematch at UFC 204. The 38-year-old has won five fights in a row. The UFC also announced that there will be a press conference in Las Vegas on Friday featuring White, Bisping and St-Pierre. It is expected GSP will fight in the second half of 2017 due to him entering the USADA testing pool. MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened GSP as the favorite. Light heavyweight standout Misha Cirkunov re-signs with the UFC Overshadowed by the St-Pierre booking, Canadian sports network TSN also broke the news Wednesday that light heavyweight Misha Cirkunov has re-signed with the UFC. Cirkunov (13-2) is currently riding an eight-fight winning streak, with four of those wins coming in the UFC. The 30-year-old Canadian is coming off a first-round submission victory over Nikita Krylov in his hometown of Toronto last December at UFC 206. No date or opponent has been set for his next fight.
