UFC 209’s Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson: ‘That wasn’t me, I didn’t feel right’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 209 welterweight top contender Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson as he prepares for his main event title bout this Saturday (March 4, 2017) against champion Tyron Woodley at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“(Woodley) ended up catching me in the fourth round. In the fourth round, I was just flat, man. I saw the punch coming, but I just took it to the face. And you can’t take that from Tyron as big, and as strong and as powerful as that guy is with his right hand. But when you see him fight, he doesn’t make a whole lot of changes in his game. So I expect him to be maybe a little bit more aggressive. It was weird, because after the fourth round, I felt like I could go another three rounds. I felt amazing in the fifth, and I should have been like that from the get-go — and I wasn’t. I know it wasn’t the Stephen Thompson that most people see. That wasn’t me, I didn’t feel right.”
