Over/Under Totals for UFC 208

Tim BoetschUFC 208: Holm vs De Randamie Date: February 11, 2017 Arena: Barclays Center City: Brooklyn, NY The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Brooklyn, NY for the first time in promotional history with UFC 208: Holm vs De Randamie, which will crown the UFC’s inaugral women’s featherweight champion. The 12-fight card is scheduled to get started with UFC Fight Pass prelims at 6:30pm ET. Preliminary action will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm and the Pay Per View main card will kick off at 10pm. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakers. My Over/Under Totals are: Light Heavyweight bout: Glover Teixeira (-220) vs Jared Cannonier (+180) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think the two most likely outcomes to this 205-pound contest are Teixeira winning by submission and Cannonier winning by T/KO and I think both of those outcomes are more likely to come within the first seven and a half minutes of action than not. I think the Total of Under 1.5 rounds at -105 is the play to make here. As for my official pick, I have been going back and forth. I initially felt confident in Cannonier because I felt he would have a big size advantage over Teixeira, but after seeing them face off at the press conference, Teixeira appeared to be the bigger fighter so my lean went with him. Gabe’s Call: Teixeira by Submission (arm triangle choke, 3:40 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (-105) Middleweight bout: Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza (-550) vs Tim Boetsch (+425) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a fight Jacare should win handily, and normally, I would be all over him. I usually bet against Boetsch and somewhat enjoy fading him. However, I can’t do that this time, even against arguably the most dangerous opponent he has ever faced. Just a weird gut feeling I can’t ignore. Something just won’t allow me to bet against him, so instead I am opting to take the Total of Under 1.5 rounds, as I think Jacare is most likely to win in in the opening stanza. In case “The Barbarian” pulls off the upset, I think this bet will still cash, because I think his best shot of winning is to knock out Souza in the first round. Boetsch is also quite tempting at +425, and again, this is coming from a guy who usually loves betting against him and even bet Rafael Natal against him back at UFC 205. I go back and forth for my official pick, as my brain is saying Jacare but my gut is whispering Boetsch. My gut isn’t always right but I usually end up kicking myself whenever I ignore it. Gabe’s Call: Boetsch by T/KO (punches, 0:43 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (-145) Click Here to Make a Donation!
