The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Houston, TX, this past Saturday (February 4, 2017) with UFC Fight Night 104: Bermudez vs. Korean Zombie. It was a solid night of action that say seven of 12 bouts end inside the distance. After the event concluded, the UFC awarded $50,000 to two fighters for ‘Performance of the Night’ and two fighters for ‘Fight of the Night’. The lines to wager on these props were available at Several Bookmakers. The post-fight bonus winners were… Jessica Andrade and Angela Hill earn Fight of the Night honors for their three-round battle on the evening’s preliminary card. Andrade dominated the contest from bell to bell, but former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion Hill put on a great display of heart and gave a show for the fans in Houston and everybody watching at home. This was easily the best fight of the evening, and a well-deserved $50k for both ladies. “Best consolation prize ever!,” tweeted Hill, after receiving news that she and Andrade earned the bonus. Noteworthy fight(s): – None. Chan Sung Jung earns Performance of the Night for his first-round knockout of Dennis Bermudez after being out of action for more than three years. It was an impressive, picture-perfect return to action for “The Korean Zombie” and fight fans are already anticipating his next bout, which will hopefully come out sooner rather than later, considering how quickly this bout ended. Marcel Fortuna earns Performance of the Night for his first-round knockout of veteran Anthony Hamilton on the main card. It was his promotional debut, and he made the most of it with a come-from-behind finish after surviving early trouble at the hands of Hamilton. It was all Hamilton until the fight ending sequence that put him out and forced the referee to intervene and stop the action. A solid UFC debut for Fortuna, who will be dropping back down to his natural weight class of 205 pounds for his next Octagon outing. Noteworthy Performance(s): – James Vick defeated Abel Trujillo via third-round D’Arce choke submission. – Chas Skelly defeated Chris Gruetzemacher by a rear-naked choke and neck crack combo submission in the second round of action. – Niko Price defeated Alex Morono via second-round knockout. Price put Morono out cold with up uppercut at the buzzer, and the fight was called off after the bell, as Morono was clearly knocked out. – Khalil Rountree picked up his first official victory inside the Octagon and saved his spot on the UFC’s light heavyweight roster with a first-round knockout of Daniel Jolly.
