MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC on Fox 23 middleweight Sam Alvey as he prepares for his preliminary card headlining bout this Saturday night (January 28, 2017) against Nate Marquardt at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
“I go to sleep and I’m thinking about this fight. I wake up and it’s the first thing I’m thinking about. It is the biggest fight I’ve ever had. I’m going out of my way, I’m spending more money on my training camp than I usually do. I’m taking advantage of everything I can to get ready for this one. Even my wife is on board, we started sleeping in separate rooms so I can sleep better without the kids waking me up in the middle of the night. I’m doing things I’ve never done before to try to get me more rest, more ready, everything. I’m doing eight weeks of conditioning instead of four, I’m traveling more to work with more training partners. I bought an elevation tent and have been sleeping in that for the last six weeks or however long it’s been.”
