Johny Hendricks vs. Hector Lombard slated for UFC Fight Night: Halifax MMAFighting reported Wednesday that Johny Hendricks is slated to move up to middleweight and battle former Bellator champion Hector Lombard at UFC Fight Night 105 in Halifax. In addition, the report mentions that the UFC originally tried to book the matchup for UFC 208 in Brooklyn, but clearance issues with the New York Athletic Commission prevented the fight from materialising. Hendricks (17-6) had a forgettable 2016 which saw him go 0-3, suffering setbacks to Stephen Wonderboy Thompson, Kelvin Gastelum and most recently Neil Magny at UFC 207 back in December. The former welterweight champion moves up to middleweight for the first time in his career. Lombard (34-6-1) is also on a bit a slide, coming into this matchup on a two-fight skid with losses to Neil Magny and most recently Dan Henderson at UFC 199. UFC Fight Night 105 takes place at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax Nova Scotia on February 19th. A number of matchups added to UFC Fight Night 107 including Corey Anderson vs. Jimi Manuwa The UFC announced this morning a number of new fights to the UFC Fight Night 107 card in London including Corey Anderson vs. Jimi Manuwa and Joseph Duffy vs. Reza Madadi. Manuwa (16-2) is coming off an impressive knockout victory over Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 204 this past October. His two career losses are to former title challengers Alexander Gustaffson and Ovince Saint Preux. Anderson (9-2) heads into this matchup off a second-round TKO of Sean O’Connell at UFC Fight Night 102. Duffy (16-2) got back on the winning track in his last fight submitting Mitch Clarke in 25 seconds at UFC Fight Night 90. Madadi (14-4) returned from a long layoff in his last fight and earned a stoppage victory over Yan Cabral at UFC Fight Night 87 in the Netherlands last May. Also featured on the card is a women’s bantamweight fight between Lina Lansberg (6-2) and Veronica Macedo (5-1-1 ) and has a heavyweight bout between Daniel Omielanczuk (19-6-1) and Timothy Johnson (10-3).
