MMA Odds and Ends for Thursday: Cheick Kongo vs Oli Thompson booked for Bellator 172

Cheick KongoKhalil Rountree vs. Daniel Jolly added to UFC Fight Night 104 fight card Next month (February 4, 2017), former Ultimate Fighter light heavyweight finalist Khalil Rountree will lock horns with Daniel Jolly (5-1). Rountree (4-2), lost a decision to Andrew Sanchez in the TUF 23 Finale and in his second UFC fight, he knocked down Tyson Pedro but was then submitted near the end of the first round. Jolly was offered up as a sacrifice to rising light heavyweight star Misha Cirkunov over a year ago and hasn’t fought since. Both men are in search of their first UFC victory. Here’s an updated look at the UFC Fight Night 104 card: Dennis Bermudez vs. Chan Sung Jung Alexa Grasso vs. Felice Herrig Evan Dunham vs. Abel Trujillo Ovince Saint Preux vs. Jan Błachowicz Justin Ledet vs. Dmitriy Sosnovskiy Adam Milstead vs. Curtis Blaydes Chas Skelly vs. Chris Gruetzemacher James Vick vs. Johnny Case Sheldon Westcott vs. Alex Morono Khalil Rountree vs. Daniel Jolly Cheick Kongo vs. Oli Thompson added to Bellator 172 fight card A pair of UFC heavyweight veterans will wage war inside the Bellator cage next month (February 18, 2016) as Cheick Kongo battles Oli Thompson. Kongo (25-10-2) is currently riding a three-fight win streak which includes a win over former champion Alexander Volkov as well as Tony Johnson and UFC vet Vinicius Quieroz. Thompson (17-9) had his five-fight winning streak snapped by the event’s headliner Matt Mitrione, who battles Fedor Emelienenko. Adam Piccolotti vs. Brent Primus added to Bellator 172 fight card A battle of undefeated lightweight prospects has been booked between Adam Piccolotti and Brent Primus for the same Bellator 172 show next month. Piccolotti (9-0) has impressively gone 5-0 inside the Bellator cage, most recently defeating Brandon Girtz via unanimous decision in November. Primus (7-0) has not fought since April and has had a more difficult path, earning back-to-back split decision victories to keep his streak alive. Who’s 0 will go?
