Five Props that Cashed Big at UFC on FOX 22

michelle_waterson6.1349203255Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five UFC on FOX 22 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. 1) Michelle Waterson by Submission (+465) Michelle Waterson returned from an extended 15-month injury layoff to make short work of Team Alpha Males’s Paige VanZant in front of her hometown crowd. “The Karate Hottie” took VanZant down with a head and arm throw and scrambled to her back, quickly wrapping up a rear naked choke. VanZant did her best to fight out and survive, but Waterson kept being one step ahead of her and ultimately earned a technical submission victory as the referee believed VanZant was going out. It was an impressive highlight reel victory for Waterson, who now enjoys two straight wins inside the Octagon. If you wagered on “The Karate Hottie” to take this fight by submission, then congratulations are in order, as you cashed out at a cool +465. 2) Alan Jouban by Decision (+450) Alan Jouban got the better of Mike Perry on the feet over the course of three rounds to pick up a unanimous decision victory in this striker versus striker match-up. Big congrats to those who played the Jouban by Decision prop, as it cashed at a nice +450! Especially if you tailed me on it, as I recommended the play in my props article for the card. 3) Paul Craig by Submission (+465) Paul Craig earned his first UFC victory in impressive fashion in his promotional debut, submitting Luis Henrique da Silva via armbar in the second round of their bout. The Scottish light heavyweight kept his undefeated record intact with the victory and allowed those who wagered on the Craig by Submission prop to make out with a cool +465. Congrats if you were on that one. 4) Alex Morono by Decision (+323) Alex Morono dropped the first round but came back to win the second and third over a fatigued James Moontasri to earn a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. Moontasri’s cardio continues to cost him in fights, and Morono certainly capitalized on it. If you capitalized on the Morono by Decision prop, then you made out with a solid +323, so congratultions on that one. 5) Leslie Smith by Decision (+380) Leslie Smith pulled off the biggest upset of the night by outstriking Mexico’s Irene Aldana over the course of three rounds to pick up a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, bouncing back from her first round TKO loss to Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino. If you backed Smith to take this fight on the cards, then big congrats to you, as you cashed out at a nice +380. A $100 parlay on these five props would have netted $356,384.
