paige-vanzantUFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson Date: December 17, 2016 Arena: Golden 1 Center City: Sacramento, CA The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Sacramento, CA for the fifth time in promotional history with UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs Waterson. The 13 fight card is set to kick off with Fight Pass prelims at 3:30pm ET, and prelminary action will continue on FOX Sports 1 at 5pm. The main card will be live on FOX at 8pm. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines are currently made available at Several Bookmakers. Here are my plays: Strawweight bout: Paige VanZant (-115) vs Michelle Waterson (-105) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe PVZ’s advantage in size and strength will be the difference in this 115-pound contest scheduled for five rounds. I expect her cardio advantage to greatly benefit her as well, heading into the “championship rounds” of this contest, especially considering the fact that Waterson is coming off an extended layoff. Cage-rust could play a factor with her performance, as could jitters, considering this is her first main event slot in only her second appearance inside the Octagon, seperated 15 months from the first. Especially with the crowd on her side, I do believe this is PVZ’s fight to lose. I see her closing the distance against Waterson in this contest and grinding out a dirty unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, potentially securing a late stoppage along the way. Gabe’s Call: VanZant by Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) Welterweight bout: Sage Northcutt (-105) vs Mickey Gall (-115) Gabe’s Thoughts: Sure, we haven’t seen much of Gall, but we know how good his ground game is and it is no secret that he has great potential. Coming off back to back Octagon victories over a journalist and a WWE wrestler, this is his showcase fight and I believe it will be his coming out party. People don’t know what to expect from Gall, and I’m not sure exactly what to expect either, but one thing I do expect from him on Saturday night is victory. I am not sure how he will get it done, but I do agree with the popular consesus that the most likely outcome would be him securing a submission victory over Northcutt. I believe that Northcutt is a great talent and has a bright future himself, though that will likely come a weight class below at 155-pounds. He is an elite striker but I think he will be outsized and outgunned in this contest against Gall, as soon as the New Jersey native closes the distance. Gabe’s Call: Gall by Submission (rear naked choke, 4:44 round 1) Gabe’s Recommeded Parlay: VanZant (-115) and Gall (-115) at +249 for 4.95u to win 12.35u Click Here to Make a Donation!
