International Boxing Odds For Friday (Dec. 2)

boxing-glovesThe sportsbooks have posted several boxing fights for this Friday, December 2nd from around the world. Tough Fight Gym – Moscow, Russia Lightweight 12 rounds – Richard Commey +135 Denis Shafikov -155 Notes: This is a comeback fight for both men, and both men are in need of a win. Shafikov (37-2-1) has won one fight since his December of 2015 loss to Rances Barthelemy with the vacant IBF world lightweight title on the line. In September of 2016 the IBF belt was vacant again and this time it was Richard Commey lost against Robert Easter Jr with the belt on the line. Shafikov’s only other loss of his career came to Miguel Vasquez in February of 2014, also with a world title on the line. Both men have fought held regional titles and both men are looking to earn another shot at a world title. This is the closest fight on the schedule at the books, and that is based largely on Commey putting up a good showing against Eater Jr, where he lost by a controversial split decision. Gran Canaria Arena – Las Palmas, Spain Lightweight 12 rounds – David Morales +260 Jerobe Santana -380 Note: The WBC Youth world title at 135 pounds will be on the line between undefeated Jerobe Santana (13-0) and Nicaragua’s David Morales (13-5). At 24 years old, Santana is at the limits of the “Youth” title, but fighting on the Spaniosh Island of Las Palmas, the competition is thin. Santana is looking at this as a stepping stone, as a win here will produce a January of 2017 match for the vacant EBU European title, which would put him into deeper waters. MOrales is coming off a loss for a regional belt in Costa Rica this past October but prior to that the 22 year old was on a four fight winning streak that had produced two first round KOs and 2 second round KOs. 2300 Arena – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Super Featherweight 10 rounds – Dardan Zenunaj +2000 Tevin Farmer -6000 Notes: Tevin Farmer (23-4-1) is on a sixteen fight winning streak as he faces Dardan Zenunaj with his NABF super featherweight title on the line. Farmer is out of Philadelphia and fighting at home and he will have a huge advantage in pro boxing exepreince over Zenunaj, who is from Kosovo and fought most of his career in Belgium before logging his last three fights in the USA. Fans of highly technical, defensive boxing should get to know Farmer if they have not seen him already, as the 26 year old since starting his career off 7-4-1. He has only 5 KOs in his career, so he is counting on technique to win him fights. SaveMart Arena – Fresno, California Super Lightweight 10 rounds – Issouf Kinda +1750 Jose Carlos Ramirez -5250 Notes: This is the main event of Top Rank’s card set to air on UniMas, and it features the undefeated Ramirez (18-0) defending his WBC Continental Americas title against Issouf Kinda (18-3). Ramirez was set to face veteran Gabriel Bracero, but Kinda stepped in for Bracero on short notice. The 24 year old Ramirez is making the third defense of his regional WBC trinket. Kinda went 1-3 against elevated competition, losing to Ismael Barroso in March of 2015 and then taking 14 months off. He returned in May of this year with a win in a six round bout.
