Your Best Bets for UFC Fight Night 102’s Fight of the Night

marc-diakieseUFC Fight Night 102: Lewis vs Abdurakhimov Date: December 9, 2016 Arena: Times Union Center City: Albany, NY The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Albany, NY for the first time in promotional history with UFC Fight Night 102: Lewis vs. Abdurakhimov. The event will feature 12 bouts, all of which will be streaming live on UFC Fight Pass. Preliminary action is set to kick off at 5:45 p.m. (ET) with the main card getting underway at 9 p.m. If interested in wagering on any bouts for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakers. The ‘Fight of the Night’ plays that hold the most value are: Burgos/Trator +650 || 1u to win 6.5u Shane Burgos is making his UFC debut on short notice here against Tiago Trator, who is coming off an extended layoff. He will be the home favorite in this contest, as he is a New Yorker who will have a lot of crowd support behind him. Burgos and Trator are both very good featherweights, so I expect them to put on a show when they square off inside the Octagon this evening. Regardless of how long this 145-pound scrap lasts, I expect it to be a good one. At +650, I think it is a good value bet to take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. Should these fighters manage to take home the bonus, it would be the first time for both of them. Perez/Diakiese +510 || 1u to win 5.1u This line dropped from +650 to +510 but I think it is still worth playing, as I see it being one of the more entertaining fights of the evening; perhaps the most entertaining. The crowd will be into it, as Perez will have a lot of friends, family and fans in attendance for support. Marc Diakiese is very fun to watch, as is Frankie Perez, and I think combining the pair makes for a stylistic match-up that has a high likelyhood of producing fireworks. Unless this becomes a wrestling match or Diakiese dominates, I think this scrap will stand a decent chance of taking home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. Should these 155-pounders manage to do that, it would be the first time for both.
