TUF 24’s Matt Schnell steps up to fight Rob Font UFC officials announced Sunday that TUF 24 contestant Matt Schnell will move up to bantamweight to battle Rob Font, replacing the injured Alejandro Perez. Schnell (9-2) lost to Tim Elliott in the quarterfinals of Season 24 of The Ultimate Fighter. Prior to that, he was the Legacy FC interim flyweight champion and heads into this matchup on a six-fight win streak. Font (12-2) was slated to compete at UFC 204 before his opponent Ian Entwistle was ruled medically ineligible at the card’s official weigh-ins, and the matchup was cancelled. He’s coming off a unanimous-decision loss to John Lineker. The event is scheduled to take place at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas this Saturday (December 3rd, 2016).
