There is often an extreme amount of value that’s hidden in prop lines for UFC events, and UFC on FX 8 was no exception to this as a number of crazy prop bets cashed big time to those who bet them. Below are five prop bets that cashed out huge last night at UFC on FX 8, based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers: Vitor Belfort Wins in Round One (+300) Everyone knew that Vitor Belfort only had two rounds to knock out Luke Rockhold before he got tired, but Belfort didn’t need even one full round as he knocked out Rockhold with a highlight-reel spinning heel kick in the first round of their fight. The prop for Belfort to win in round one paid out a whopping +300 and anyone who made a play on it made a very good bet. Gleison Tibau Wins By Submission (+320) Gleison Tibau was a sizeable favorite against John Cholish but most bettors believed that he would win by decision and backed that prop instead. But Tibau absolutely outmuscled Cholish and in the second round of their fight he finished off his opponent with a brutal arm-in guillotine choke. The Tibau wins by submission prop paid out at +320 so anyone who bet that prop must be feeling pretty good today. Gleison Tibau Wins In Round Two (+650) In addition to the Tibau wins by decision prop cashing, Tibau’s second-round finish also netted anyone who bet on it a fantastic +650 return. This was definitely one of the most difficult props on the whole card to predict so anyone who put some cash on it definitely deserves some kudos because while I personally thought there was a chance that Tibau could win by tapout I could have never predicted the round it would take place. Francisco Trinaldo Wins By Submission (+258) Another submission on the undercard came courtesy of Francisco Trinaldo, who submitted Mike Rio with an arm-triangle choke from mount. The Trinaldo wins by submission prop paid out at a juicy +258 so anyone who bet that definitely got a solid return on their cash for predicting the tapout finish. Lucas Martins vs. Jeremy Larsen Wins Fight Of The Night (+2700) And the mother of all UFC on FX 8 prop bets was undoubtedly the lightweight bout between Lucas Martins and Jeremy Larsen winning Fight of the Night, as it paid out a mammoth +2700. No one would have predicted this fight to have been the most exciting on the card but it absolutely was and both men deserved their $50,000 bonus awards. As well, anyone who took a stab at this prop gets my respect because this was probably one of the last fights on the card I would have pencilled in to win the award.
